There should be a Fireplace, A short poem

There Should Be a Fireplace
By: Ryan Beodeker

For the grainy wood table,
the soft strum of jazz.
There should be a fireplace.

For the hand carved chess set,
the smell of smoke in the air.
There should be a fireplace.

For missed winter,
For love of snowed in evenings in December.
There should be a fireplace.

For evenings with friends,
For a deserved, warm, comforting setting.
There should be a fireplace.

For days unremembered,
For unforgotten nights.
There should be a fireplace.
