Goodbyes
All We Know
By: Charles Wood
I recall the beauty
too far gone. remembering the touch of loves embrace.
The smiles of kinship,
the fierce passion of night,
how wonderful love
in all of its might.
Recalling the nights we called our own.
Running along,
we would never know.
Never saw the blood,
or its trails in the snow.
Never heard the cries, her need.
Now I summarize with great speed.
That Rose had wilted so long ago,
leaving dead red petals,
we would never know.
crisp dead petals
we would never know.
How did we grow?
Where did we go?
How could we know?
How could I know?
The farewell of final curtain.
Goodbye's all we know.
