Driving While Intoxicated, A short poem

Driving While Intoxicated
 By: Robert Orr

I am the designated driver
For when you become intoxicated
I will always take the wheel
When you have had too much
I am the driver
When you get inebriated
I will let you feel
All that you can touch

These four walls are the road now
This bed frame is our chassis
I have the skills, the know how
And this interior: so classy
You’re so drunk
My mind’s astray
Conscience sunk
To the bottom of the ash tray

So now I drink and you drive me
Racing recklessly down the track
In reverse, gears are grinding
Through the rear-view you smile and look back
Let’s touch the stars
I know we could fly
We came so far
Just to die
So let’s reach those stars
I bet we can fly
Don’t need my car
To get a D.W.I.
