Can you See it?, A poem

Can you See it?
By: Ryan Beodeker

I have ascended to a higher plain of existence. I have reached the summit of my own personal Everest and have placed my flag upon its snow covered peak. I have escaped from the socialized, the modernized society that engulfs the conscious minds of the youth. For I have ascended. I have shuffled off my mortal coil and opposing a vast sea of troubles I ended them with upward motion. I have burst forth and now I see.

Shades of colors. Shades of colors, vivid and lush, serene greens, heartening deep blues, a spinning swirling rainbow of tasty amusements. Dance pretty colors, swirl around the room, twist and turn, show the doorway to the world unseen. Open the gateway to the mind's hidden paradise. You and I can go there; together we can be free.

A Dr. Seuss landscape. Truffula trees, fish that talk. A world made up of mismatch rhyme scheme and flibberdeeflub. Brought here with me to this higher plain to look out into the souls of mortal men. Step into the rabbit hole Alice. There's no time left to lose.

It is a rain covered cobblestone street. It is night's tears that fall down splashing the earthy rocks. Alone out on the street the faint melodies playfully glisten and shine. Songs of the siren call out, they urge us on.

I see the people walk the streets with their automobiles. I caught a glimpse of the advertising; saw the men in the chairs, the computers, the brand logo t-shirts, which Facebook status, #whatnow, blogged this, re-blogged that. I have seen it all.

Ascended to the blizzard topped Everest, have I the young wounded soul. The lashes born of my sand grains have greyed a youthful man. Lofty realm of provoking thought, just slightly out of reach, for those who still walk on ground, within the lion's reach.

Look up to the stars my friends. The stars.
