What Makes You Remarkable

What Makes You Remarkable
By: Charlie Wood

What makes you remarkable in my mind’s eye?
I was determined to write the entire piece out,
in one swift motion, no turn backs for edits, or redos at all.
What makes you remarkable in my mind’s eye?
I sat perplexed and confused,

slightly dazed from the after work bowl and thoughts of you.
What makes you remarkable in my mind’s eye?
I can’t even begin try to find the syllables,
the very verbage to honor your visage,
the sheer words aren’t there,
I can’t even begin to find the language,
descriptive and honest enough to do you justice,
or reason enough wisdom outta my young but old bones
and find the logical answer to my aforementioned question.
What makes you remarkable in my mind’s eye?
Maybe it’s just the first real time I’ve chosen to try,
but I can’t simply believe your grace is given from my mind’s own illusions,
no, your beauty and courage are real,
and they don’t simply stop existing because my mind plays tricks,
No, you are real.
What makes you remarkable in my mind’s eye?
I believe it all starts in a smile,
then moves to your eyes;
you’re remarkable as laughter glides off your cheeks.
You’re remarkable in your smile,
in your heart on your sleeve honesty,
in your slight touch of carefree bitterness,
in your few broken but mendable pieces,
in your sharp tongue, in your quick wit,
in your ability to never cease to impress.
What makes you remarkable in my mind’s eye?
Simply put, nothing else but you.

Time's up! A short Essay on Doomsday

Time's up!
By: Ryan Beodeker

So humanity? Out making plans for tomorrow? Or rather, are you making plans for tomorrow by not making plans for tomorrow?

Quotes worth quoting...

"For every moment I enjoy humanity there are ten fold more that remind me why I shouldn't. There are always more times that life gets you down and certainly far less times when joy is present. Though in the end if you can smile in the face of adversity, if you can find the joy in the hardships that life sends barreling your way then you've walked away the better person; that's all we can ever really do." -Bureau Chief Beodeker
