Thoughts on Society, A poem

Thoughts on Society
By: Charles Wood

Cry out for affection. It's the most needed thing in all the world. Attention for others gives our lives their meaning. We find our purpose in the thoughts and words of others. Sentiment leads to achievement.

Reach out for love, we all need a little to brighten our days. Euphoric feelings found in the early days of youth. It is the time before the heart break of growing up. These are the days when you still fly to Neverland. Just think of a happy thought before the pains of aging remove smiles for sorrows.

Breathe out empathy. The mirror neurons of your brain say that humans are born to be creatures who feel their brothers pain. It's embedded into our brains to see tears and cry, to see a smile and revel in it, to simply share in our brothers' delight and care for the fallen comrade. You are you brother's keeper.

There is nothing wrong with craving compassion. No faults to be found with wanting peace and loving spread all places. Though never tolerate uncompassionate. Apathy is something that earns the dreaded phrase of hate that. We'll always be one step forward two steps back so long as apathy, so long as hate, so long as uncompassionate all still things on the plates of our mouths. Free your heart and share you soul.
